Analogue Productions set out to produce the ultimate test record.
We’ve consulted many experts in the field, including mastering engineers, audio experts, turntable experts and audiophile listeners, to create a test record that’s never been made before. When Barry Wolifson from Sterling Sound in New York City called us with the same idea we had been thinking about – that being to create the ultimate test record – he and our audio expert Clark Williams began to brainstorm and research ideas until they were both completely satisfied with what should go on the record.

Most of the test records in the past have been made to test a variety of equipment. This test record excludes silly cannon shots, typewriters, voices on one channel and other useless fluff. This one specifically addresses your turntable and cartridge. It’s designed to provide the basic test signals necessary to calibrate a turntable or cutting lathe as simply as possible. Most of the signals have specific implications, but it is certainly possible to use them in any number of novel ways.

This record was mastered and cut on a Neumann VMS 80 lathe at Sterling Sound and pressed at Record Technology, Inc. on high-quality, 180-gram virgin vinyl.

Willem Makkee, der Cutter von den Emil Berliner Studios, fertigt im Stammsitz der Deutschen Grammophon GmbH die Lackfolien auf der Neumann VMS 80 Schneidemaschine mit einem CUTTERHEAD Neumann SX 74.

Die Galvanisierung der Folie und die anschließende Schallplattenpressung erfolgt in Deutschland. Das Plattengewicht liegt bei 180g und besteht aus 100% Virgin Vinyl. Von jeder Pressmatrize werden maximal 1.200 Pressungen erstellt, die Auflage ist limitiert.

Ein Tonabnehmersystem ohne Clearaudio BREAK-IN TEST RECORD benötigt eine bestimmte Einspielzeit, um die besten Wiedergabeeigenschaften zu erreichen. Diese Einspielzeit hängt von der jeweiligen Tonabnehmer – Konstruktion und von den abgetasteten Signalen während dieser Zeit ab. In der Regel /üblicherweise beträgt diese Einspielzeit eines Tonabnehmers mit einem Musiksignal etwa 40 bis 100 Stunden. Diese Einspielzeit lässt sich allerdings deutlich verkürzen, in dem zum Einspielen eines Tonabnehmers ein Rosa Rauschen in einer Endlos Rille als Signal verwendet wird.
Jetzt ist lästiges einspielen Vergangenheit.

Bunte Rauschen Signale

Zu diesem Zweck haben wir auf unserer ‚Cartridge Break In Record‘ insgesamt 6 Endlos – Rillen mit Rosa Rauschen Signal vorgesehen (Tracks 5,6,7,9,10 und 11). Zusätzlich wurden 240 Sekunden Rosa Rauschen Signale für Messungen des gesamten Wiedergabesystems zur Verfügung gestellt (Track 14).
Zur Prüfung des Frequenzganges eines Tonabnehmers dient ein gleitender (Sweep) Sinus-Testsignal von 20 Hz bis 20 kHz (Track 3). Das Gesamtrauschen des Wiedergabesystems kann mit einer Leerrille ohne Signal ? Stille? (Track 4 und 13) geprüft werden (Dauer 300 Sekunden).

Die Optimierung der Antiskating Kraft Einstellung ermöglichen Tracks 8 und 12. Beide Kanäle beinhalten ein 316 Hz Sinus-Signal mit kontinuerlich wechselnden Phazendifferenz von 0 bis 360 grad. Auf diese Weise wechselt die
Abtast-Diamantbewegung widerholt von waagerechten zur vertikalen Bewegung. Die Amplitude steigt von ?22 dB bis +8dB, was einer maximalen Geschwindigkeit von 9.81 cm/s oder einer Amplitude von 5o mm Spitze horizontal oder vertikal
entspricht.
